How do you know this movie exists?

8500 was filmed on August 5, 2000, at the Loring Park Art Fair in Minneapolis.

8500 is a reckless meditation on art and existence. Two filmmakers trying to make a documentary on the Art Fair find their project stymied by their own lack of confidence and stolen by a performance artist. It is based on the 1914 Charlie Chaplin film, "Kid Auto Races in Venice."

The premiere screening of 8500 was on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at Mayslack's Lounge in Minneapolis. The first show was "sold out" and there was a nice turnout for the second show. Thanks to everyone who came for the show! Watch this space for more information on upcoming screenings.

8500 was shown during the 2001 Minnesota Fringe Festival. 8500 was featured on an all-fringe show of the Minnesota Public Radio weekly program Word of Mouth.
