A Sloppy Bibliography (incomplete)

These are my books. Most of them are novels. Some of them have been self or web published. The others are, as Alan Ginsberg said, "published only in heaven."

The Reign of Chaos and Old Night 1981-2

Written during my first year of college. Altho I had tried several attempts to write a novel before this, this was the first that I finished. After a nuclear war, Rudolf Lear, a developmentally disabled man, finds himself immune to radiation and disease. He loves to stroke people and comfort them, but he is a carrier, and he carries diseases and spreads them and kills off what is left of the human race.

Active Dormancy 1982-3

Written for the most part during summer break between my first two years of college. A neighborhood of families who hate each other live with their violence seething just under the surface. It all comes out when they unintentionally find themselves all camping at Yellowstone Park at the same time. The volcano that is Yellowstone erupts, and they erupt into war between each other.

Adelbert Humphrey in the abyss, a mangled jazz riff, a jelly novel that tries to explode in your face 1983-4

Three parallel stories. The first features blind painter Adelbert Humphrey and his good friend Troglydite as they puzzle over a huge hole built in the middle of their neighborhood. The second story is a modern Orestia, that takes places in a suburban home, office warfare, and a McDonald's held hostage. The third story follows a breaktaking revolution in heaven. Jesus and Elvis are leading a violent uprising against the aging military dictator, God. After this I took a two year break from writing novels as I was writing and editing for my college newspaper.

A statement contra cars. Johnny Primate grows up on a death ship, a Winnebago driven by ghosts who cause accidents when they get close to living people in their cars. When the Winnebago crashes and Johnny wakes up in a hospital, he wonders if he can adjust to the world of the living and their even deadlier cars.

Already Over Show Novel for Beginners 1995-6, 2001

This story is set in a public access TV station and concerns Homer Runyon, an evangelist with a piece of metal in his brain that picks up radio waves. He speaks the radio that comes into his head for his public access show. I stopped writing this book half way thru it when I wondered why I was even writing these books that nobody would ever read. After a heart problem brought me closer to death than I'd ever been, I decided to make some changes in my life. Some attempts led to nothing, but I decided to pick up my writing again after having stopped it for four years, and I finished this book by adding some new characters and just putting down words on paper.
